The nearest Eurostar station to Sheffield is London St. Pancras International where you can travel to from France, Belgium and The Netherlands. Sheffield Train Station is directly accessible from St. Pancras with an average journey time of two hours.

Due to its central location, Sheffield is very well connected to other cities and regions in the UK by rail – London can be reached in two hours, Manchester in 50 minutes and Leeds in 45 minutes.

Sheffield’s nearest passenger ferry port is located at Hull Ferry Terminal. You can travel here from Europort Rotterdam in the Netherlands. Sheffield can be reached by rail from Hull, with a short journey by bus or taxi from the port to the city centre.

From Sheffield Train Station you can travel directly to the University’s main campus by tram, with journeys taking less than 10 minutes. To do this catch a blue route service from the tram stop at the station towards Malin Bridge. Trams run every 12 minutes.
Alternatively you can catch one of a number of buses from outside the station, or if you fancy some fresh air it’s a 20 minute walk.

Whilst we encourage people to use sustainable or public transport when visiting campus, there are a number of nearby car parks that can be booked in advanced for more reasonable rates, as well as a Park & Ride service from the edge of the city centre.

You will find plenty of cabs at the station taxi rank, at any time of day. Uber is also available in Sheffield, or the local equivalent - Veezu, both of which have user friendly apps that you can download before you arrive.
Once in the city, the extensive bus and tram routes can get you anywhere you would like to go, whilst the city centre is easily walkable, with many parks and green spaces to explore.
